Discover one of the most scenic and adventurous experiences around Antigua with this unique tour, available on two types of vehicles: all-terrain ATVs or the traditional Guatemalan shuttle, also known as the “pick-up truck.” Whether you choose the thrill of an ATV or the local flavor of the pick-up, this journey offers an immersive way to explore Antigua’s stunning landscapes and cultural landmarks, all while enjoying panoramic views and outdoor adventure.

Your first stop is the iconic Cerro de la Cruz, a breathtaking viewpoint perched about 5,000 feet above sea level. This is one of Antigua’s most beloved landmarks, offering a sweeping aerial view of the colonial city, surrounding villages, and the dramatic backdrop of volcanoes and lush valleys. It’s the perfect way to begin the tour, taking in the geography and beauty of the region from above.

Next, you’ll head to Earth Lodge, a peaceful eco-lodge and avocado plantation nestled in the mountain village of El Hato. This relaxing stop gives you time to connect with nature, enjoy the fresh mountain air, and experience the tranquil charm of Guatemalan highland life. Afterward, a pick-up truck ride takes you to the final and highest stop—Alta Mira. Located at an impressive 7,600 feet above sea level, Alta Mira is a unique eco-park filled with hiking trails, artistic installations, and photo-worthy spots. You’ll take a short hike through the forest, visit the famous “Hands” sculpture, and have the option to explore other activities like the bicycle canopy ride or simply relax and take in the magnificent views of the valley and volcanoes.

Amazing experience hiking Acatenango with Blue Sky Adventures - would highly recommend. We had 4 guides for a group of 15 and really loved the personal feel, we were in great hands throughout. The climb is challenging but Danelia was an amazing guide and encouraging, stopping to allow for plenty of rest as needed. The camp has a great view of Fuego erupting from the seating area and good, warm cabins for rest. The highlight apart from the views was definitely the pancake breakfast after our sunrise summit hike. Would highly recommend Blue Sky Adventures as a new operator on the volcano and a company that supports women and the local community.

It was a perfect organisation. Super fast, easy and smooth communication via Whats App before the trip. The evening before the hike we had a quick briefing with our tourguide 'Lady' . She told us about the hike and we could ask last questions. I rented a pair of sticks who saved me on this 5h hike. Pedro joined us on the hike. The hike was super hard but Lady and Pedro just went in our tempo with lots of breaks. Up in the basecamp, they served us Red Wine and a nice Guacamole. They also had coffee and tee. There was an Option to go for another 4h hike to the fuego. (For 250 Quetzal) in the morning they served us delicious pancakes with fruits. The way down took us 3h. &1h car drive back to Antigua. All together was a really nice organisation with the best tour guide "Lady".

We went up the volacano two days ago and it was a amazing experience for us that we will never forget. Our Guide Lady was just one of a kind. She's the only female Guide on the vulcano and the pure defenition of a powerwoman! Togeter with Pedro we had a dream team that guided us all the way up to a majestetic view where we could see the vulcano errupting! On the long way up (about 5h hours to Basecamp) we made one Lunchbreak and manny short breaks whenever we needed them. Service did not just stop by bringing our boddies all the way up but also by making sure we would not have a mental brakedown on the way up. Somehow I came up with the brilliant Idea to ad additional 4hours of hiking to have a verryverry close look at night on the erruptions. Although i was dead inside after 9 hours of hiking the breathtaking views on top were worth it! On our Way down the next day Lady told us that she's going up again tomorrow. She deserves all the respect in the world for doing her job the way she does (with a big smile on her face no matter what)! She's simply the best!

We specifically chose Blue Sky based off them being female owned. We had an amazing time with Daniella and Valeria who made sure we were safe the whole time and we had a small group of just four total. I want to give Daniella a special shout out because I fell on the descent and sprained my ankle. She assessed and wrapped my ankle and helped me down, at some points literally walking backwards in the Scree with my pack also on her shoulders, so that I could step safely. I cannot thank her enough for that. Please choose them, you will not regret it.

I did the acatenango hike with BlueSky and i’m so glad that i chose this company. We were a small group (3 people) which made it easier to socialize and enjoy the hime together. Besides, we went after the other groups which meant that the entire hike was empty and without traffic but we still made it to the campground in time. The company is probably the only one that has female guides which is great because they give them a opportunity to work. Our guide Daniela was the best, she was always cheering us on and she was really resourceful and competent. The beds were comfortable, the view at the campground was insane and the food was really good and generous. On the way to the hike we spoke to Victor, the owner and he explained to us the challenges of the Guatemalan people and gave us a short history class which was really nice. Overall it’s a great company that i recommend, i wrote such a long review because i believe that this company deserves more light.
